HotelTonight – Great Hotels in Adventure District Oklahoma City
From its deep-rooted cowboy culture to its abundance of outdoor activities, Oklahoma City is a wildly fun and entertaining city to visit. Oklahoma City has established a reputation as a great family destination, thanks to its family-friendly attractions and great selection of hotels. While on a recent cross-country road trip, my family and I unexpectedly found ourselves in Oklahoma City. We were immediately taken by the charm and the welcoming atmosphere of the city, so we decided to spend more time in Oklahoma City rather than just breeze through to the next city. Since we didn't have a hotel room waiting for us, we relied on HotelTonight to book our last-minute hotel in Oklahoma City. HotelTonight had quickly become our go-to app for booking hotels during our road trip, as it always made finding last-minute hotels a breeze. Within a few minutes on the app, we had booked a comfortable hotel in the heart of the "Adventure District"--arguably Oklahoma City's hottest neighborhood for entertainment and attractions. Since we were in the mood for a bit of fun and excitement, we couldn't wait to start exploring the Adventure District for ourselves.
Entertainment
After just one day in the Adventure District, we realized that there is just too much to do and see in one day in Oklahoma City. This district, in particular, is full of great entertainment options, such as watching live horse racing at Remington Park and seeing the animals play at the Oklahoma City Zoo. There are also great parks and gardens in the Adventure District, so if you are craving some greenery and open spaces, you'll certainly be able to find it in this popular Oklahoma City neighborhood.
Museums
The Adventure District is best known for its great selection of museums, most of which are great fun for the whole family. This neighborhood is home to the Science Museum of Oklahoma, the National Softball Hall of Fame and Museum, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and the Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum. With so many museums in one area, it can be tough to choose which one to visit during your stay. Since my family and I were fascinated by the cowboy culture we saw everywhere in Oklahoma City, we decided to learn more about the history of American cowboys at the National Cowboy museum.
The Amusement Park
The "Adventure District" is certainly aptly named, because there's no shortage of opportunities for adventure in this neighborhood. Here in the Adventure District, you'll find Oklahoma City's only amusement park--Frontier City. This western-themed park is packed with roller coasters, a grand Ferris wheel and plenty of fun for families. To this day, my kids remind me of the fun we had in Oklahoma City's Adventure District.
HotelTonight – Find Your Own Adventure in Oklahoma City's Adventure District
Oklahoma City proved to be one of the biggest surprises of our entire road trip. Not only did we not originally plan to stop in Oklahoma City (at least not for very long), but we also didn't plan on loving this city so much. I already know that my family would love to return to Oklahoma City someday in the future, and when the opportunity arises, we'll definitely book another Oklahoma City hotel through HotelTonight.
